A matchup between Fighters.com’s seventh-ranked heavyweight “Cigano” Junior Dos Santos (9-1) and former UFC title challenger “Napão” Gabriel Gonzaga (11-4) is in the works, Fighters.com has confirmed with a source close to one of the fighters.

Fighters.com hasn’t confirmed the date of the fight and no contracts are signed.  If the matchup is in December, it’s likely to occur at UFC 107 at the FedExForum in Memphis December 12.  However, according to unconfirmed reports, that card is already stacked with pay-per-view quality matchups.  UFC 108 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas January 2 and is also a likely event for the matchup.

I never saw CroCop as broken as I did after Dos Santos was done with him. Dos Santos fucked him up. I was actually wondering if he would ever fight again.

Sounds like a good fight, although I wonder who Nog will fight instead. People continue to overlook the fact that the entire HW division (worldwide) lacks depth.  So you end up having the top guys fighting each other far more often thus you'll see guys with more losses than you would in the other divisions.  If there's no other good match up for Nog, though, I'd rather he fight GG.

You could very well be right. However you are refering his post fight comments - im sure his post fight comments would not be of retirement, dark thoughts and wanting to go fishing had Dos Santos not have beaten him. He pre fight comments were "i want the belt, i am a force in the division, Fedor is scared and i am not" etc etc

I can see where you are coming from but I dont think you could consider CroCop "game" in that fight, I mean sure he may have put on a brave face but his post fight comments gave the impression that he knew he was out of his depth, the remarks on his retirement lead me to believe that maybe he is just accepting a quick pay cheque (hence the problem with him leaving for Dream and Lorenzo then flying to Croatia to meet up) but who knows.

It sure didnt help, but then you can go further back and reference randleman. My point is Cro Cop entered the cage that evening a confident man with a good few fights under his belt and he left very upset and crushed and ultimately suicidal. Dos Santos beat a game Cro Cop that night.

I'd say it was Gonzaga that broke CroCop not Dos Santos.. but thats just my own opinion.

lol @ those ragging on Dos Santos for beating a 'mentally broken cro cop' newsflash; It was Dos Santos who broke him! and then made Cro Cop consider hanging himself. He certainly wasnt suicidal before the fight and i highly doubt he would have been if he had won.
