Todd Duffee out of UFC 107 bout with Paul Buentello

by Greg Savage | source:

Todd Duffee has pulled out of his heavyweight bout against Paul Buentello at UFC 107 on Dec. 12 in Memphis, Tenn., due to an injury.

“(Withdrawing) was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make,” said Duffee, who would not disclose the nature of his injury.

Duffee, 23, burst onto the UFC scene with a record-setting seven-second knockout of Tim Hague at UFC 102 in August. The undefeated heavyweight, who recently relocated to Las Vegas to attend the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, hopes to be back in action by early 2010.

“It was a fight I was really looking forward to,” Buentello told on Tuesday. “We really matched up well.”

Mike Russow and Stefan Struve have been presented as two potential replacements for Duffee, said Buentello.

i haven't seen Duffee the last few weeks, when he's normally training the same days that i am... i'd say this is probably true.

The UFC doesn't have rankings because they don't have a majority of the top 10 fighters in 2 weight classes.  Do you think Dana would rank Aoki at # 2  and Fedor at #1 in the world on UFC's rankings, thus admitting that all these other fighters are better/ higher ranked than those in his organization?  Not a chance.  Come to think of it...I'd love to see the UFC's rankings to see how Dana would have all of his fighers 1-10
