Little Nog out of UFC 109

by Loretta Hunt | source:

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has withdrawn from his co-headlining light heavyweight contest against Brandon Vera at UFC 109 on Feb. 6 in Las Vegas due to injury, has learned from multiple sources.

Nogueira, the brother of former UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, suffered a fractured ankle, said both sources. Nogueira’s manager, Ed Soares, could not be initially reached to confirm the injury.

Sources said the UFC is currently working to secure a new opponent for Vera on the same card.

looks like it now not a Fight Night on Wednesday on Spike. It's a Sunday show on Versus. March 21st as originally reported was correct. MMA Weekly screwed up the story saying Vera meant to say March 31st which isn't accurate

I think Vera could walk through Elliot Marshall and Brian Stann fairly easily.

It's Jones vs Vera in the main event at UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31st. The event is supposed to take place in Denver, Colorado. Vera first mentioned it and John from MMA Junkie posted about that part like two hours ago. I updated with Fight Night info. Should be a good fight for as long as it lasts, but I don't like Vera's chances. Edit: Yeah, just saw that there's already other threads about it. Lots of threads on the same topic!
