Ortiz vs. Liddell 3 at UFC 115 in Vancouver

by Geoff Rohoman | source: news1130.com

Vancouver (NEWS1130) - Less than a month after city council gave it a two year trial, the UFC has decided on a date for its Vancouver debut. As News1130 first told you, UFC 115 will take place June 12th from GM Place.  It will be the UFC's fourth show in Canada, and just six weeks after a May 1st event in Montreal, the third in that city.

According to our own Geoff Rohoman in the News1130 Sports Centre, Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz could take place at the event.  It will be the third time the pair face off in the octagon.  Liddell and Ortiz are expected to fight at the conclusion of the 11th run of "The Ultimate Fighter" series, which debuts March 31 on Spike TV.

Some of these upcoming matchups make me wonder if the UFC is starting an informal "master's" division for over the hill fighters. Liddell v. Ortiz 3Couture v. ColemanHughes v. Gracie

Not interested in this fight?  Come on.... How could you not be interested in this fight?  Most of you've been following this sport for 10+ years.  Chuck and Tito have been here in the UFC since the beggining, they've given us so many great fights.  They are easily the 2 most popular MMA fighters in the nation, unfortunatley though, all the casual MMA fans missed over half their careers, most even missed TUF 1 and 3 when they were coaches.  I'm glad the UFC is putting the spot light on Chuck and Tito one more time.  There are so many new fans over the last few years that will gain respect for Liddell and Ortiz.  The fight will be great as well, Tito did much better against Liddell the second time, maybe third times a charm?  Either way, I love both fighters and I'm glad we get to see 2 legends and Hall of Famers, go to war!

hardly anyone wants to see this fight. Seriously the Ufc could make 50 more interesting headliners than this. There are two reasons they made this fight. 1. Chuck still wants to fight and 2. Tito thinks he can now beat Chuck.

I'd be a bit disappointed if this was the main event.  But if it's just one of the co-headliners it'd be really fun to see these two legends in person.

Why? i'm pretty sure if the ug gets upset enough, the fight will not happen a la henderson/franklin. the ufc just wants to cash in on this particular fight.

Nothing about this makes sense. But... you'll watch, I'll watch, the whole world will watch someone go 0-3 in their last 3....
