UFC 113: Jeremy Stephens verus Sam Stout

by John Morgan | source: mmajunkie.com

MMAjunkie.com has learned that a lightweight scrap between sluggers Jeremy Stephens (16-5 MMA, 4-4 UFC) and Sam Stout (15-5-1 MMA, 4-4 UFC) is in the works for the as-yet-unannounced UFC 113 event in Montreal.

Both parties have verbally agreed to the contest, though bout agreements have yet to be signed.

Though the event has yet to be officially announced, UFC 113 is expected to take place on May 1 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The event marks the third-straight year the UFC has visited the venue.

Stephens looks to build off the momentum of an exciting win over Justin Buchholz at UFC Fight Night 19 this past September. The win was much-needed for Stephens, who had been in a 1-3 slump in the UFC.

smth416 - Early FOTN candidate. Unfortunately Stephens loses when he steps up in competition.he usually loses to more well rounded opponents though. I've yet to see him outstruck besides by Fisher. This is the perfect type of fight to air on Spikes free prelims.

Stout's a cleaner puncher, but Stephens has got power...I get bored during stand-up battles like this when I know there's going to be no grappling.Max
