Sims on Lashley: He's just a big juiced up monkey

by Steve Cofield | source: sports.yahoo.com

"I warned [the referee] three times that he kept gouging me in the throat," Sims said. "Then I rolled over and gave my back, I took one strike and the ref stops it? I ain't no rookie. I've been in the sport for a long. I have a helluva high pain threshhold. Bogus stoppage."

"He needs to go back to being a security guard. He doesn't have the mike skills to be a pro wrestler."

"He's just a big juiced up monkey. He ain't got the MMA skills."

"He's juiced. We did not have a drug test. And his own wrestlers threw him under the bus. I'm good friends with a lot of wrestlers."

I'll ask them.of course if you isert ANY adjective in there, it could be offensive.i'll ask them about the exact context Wes used. I'll show them the interview, and get their thoughts. I'm interested as well.but i've dropped the N-bomb in front of them and strangers many a time, and never had anyone call me out on it. although it was NOT in any negative manner, what so ever.blah, blah, that nigga was so high, my nigga!, look nigga, shit liike that. a couple call me cracka, its all in fun and breaking those lines man.lolshit i even have a boy we call Black Jay.to be continued...lolCool I see what you are saying, but when you were dropping the N bomb it wasn't directed at someone you had just fought and was currently berating. I'll be intersted in what your friends say. Again, I could be wrong.

I've yet to see a black person who took offense. So far only limp wristed white guys who feel the need to stick up for minorities ehen there's no need.

Fair enough. If you are that close to them and they don't take offense to the question I'd be interested to know how they would feel if someone who they do not like called them a "insert any adjective here MONKEY" in the media. I'd be surprised if the majority wouldn't think it was slander, but I could be wrong.

i interact with "black" people all the time. one works for me, family members, friends, etc.i grew up in Brockton ,Ma. for christs sake...loli just look at people as people not colors, thats why him calling him a "juiced up monkey" didn't raise any flags with me.i f he just called him a "monkey" and nothing else. then yeah, i could consider it might have had racist intent, but again, the context in how it was used, i dont think it had any "intent" behind it.

Let's recap here......you are saying that you feel like it's ok to call a mentally handicapped person a retard and a black man a monkey.

damn how is this still going.  we share 99% of are DNA with fucking monkeys so who cares it's not just a slander against black people.  Sound like the same people all outraged over the word "retard"

I see the point you are trying to make but respectfully disagree. I was just wondering what type of profession people are in who think in this day and age that publically calling a black man a monkey is ok, like do they actually work or interact with black people and still think that's ok. Any black posters on here who care to share? Would it offend you to be publically called a monkey?

So I can call a white person a monkey but not a black person? That's racist.
