Bonnar loses appeal, gets rematch with Soszynski

Stephan Bonnar lost an appeal to change the result of his UFC 110 loss to Krzystztof Soszynski.

The Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales ruled this past Tuesday that the official result ruling the fight a TKO win in favor of Soszynski stands.

"A review was held ... and the Combat Sports Authority of NSW did not seek to interfere with the referee's decision," wrote Craig Waller, Executive Director of the Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales, in an email sent to MMAjunkie.com late Tuesday night.

Shouldn't have been a loss.NC should have been the result. But quite frankly these commissions are never logical and rarely ever overturn any decisions unless there's something like steroids. It's unfortunate but that's MMA currently. Need some better judging and officials I think.

We don't know what is the standard of review but based on that brief excerpt it is possible that the NSW Commission does not overturn refereeing decisions unless a very demanding stardard is met. In that case, it may not be sufficient that the initial referee's decision was incorrect. Just speculating based on very sketchy info.

It has nothing to do with betting money.  Wagers are paid on result at the end of the night.  A n/c, reveral, etc after the fact has no bearing.

because the millions and millions in betting money has already been paid and can't come back

This is what fucks me up though. I don't understand AT ALL how they can possibly NOT overturn it, with the blatant video evidence?!How can you NOT?
