Duane Ludwig, who suffered a severely broken ankle on the undercard of the UFC on Versus show Sunday, will undergo surgery on Friday to repair the injury, and is expected to be on crutches for three months, and back in training at some point there after.
The surgery will repair a Maisonneuve fracture the fighter suffered when trying to block a takedown. Ludwig will have three pins inserted into his ankle to help brace the injury, one pin will be removed after the healing process, and two pins will remain in Ludwig's ankle permanently.
