Hector Lombard vs. Paulo Filho confirmed for Bellator

CHICAGO, Ill. (March 30, 2010) — Bellator Fighting Championships announced today that its reigning middleweight champion, Hector Lombard, will fight a non-title “Super Fight” against former WEC Champion Paulo Filho at Bellator 18.

The fight will take place on Thursday, May 13th and will be televised live on FOX Sports Net and on highlight shows the following Saturday night, May 15th, on NBC and Telemundo. The venue for the event will be announced in the coming days.

This is the third Super Fight matchup to be announced by Bellator, along with the May 6th bout between current Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and Josh Neer and the May 20th matchup of Bellator Featherweight Champion Joe Soto and Diego “The Octopus” Saraiva.

that's like saying Tiger should of kept all his bitches quiet, impossible. The media always finds something to talk about, and this is an MMA forum, I was a fan of his at one point. He's wasting all that potential, I wanted to see him fight Anderson a few years ago.

Not impressed with Lombard's ground game from one Bellator fight i saw. He still seems to rely on power and not much finesse, am i wrong?Filho also has extensive judo background iirc but is a pretty well adapted judo/bjj mma grappler (when he was on top of his game).

This could've been a good fight if it weren't for the fact that Filho has been a walking wreck for quite a while now.Hopefully some day the guy manages to get his shit back together.

Honestly I don't think Hector would even be given a chance in this fight had Paulo not had those problems.
