Wednesday night's debut of "UFC Primetime: Rampage vs. Evans," which previews the UFC 114 main event on May 29 between former UFC light heavyweight champions Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Rashad Evans, was the highest-rated "UFC Countdown" show in history, Spike TV today announced.

The 30-minute show drew 1.2 million viewers during its initial run at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

Wednesday's episode was the first of a planned three-part series. The next two installments will air in the same Wednesday timeslot on May 19 and May 26.

Definitely a near clone of 24/7. At least from an aesthetic perspective. The big difference is the writing...24/7 's VO reads like poetry while UFC Primetime lacks. But you can't blame UFC for wanting something like 24/7, its such a great show.

These are way better than the Countdown shows. It seems like the UFC is trying to copy the HBO 24/7 style and I think that is a good thing for the UFC. 24/7 is one of the best put together shows there is as far as sports shows go

I mean... not to bring a snowstorm to your beach house... but Rashad and Rampage aren't exactly coming off huge performances, and a few hours of manufactured reality TV diss-offs between them doesn't make this a blockbuster fight. Amazing job by the UFC promoting this, but there are other matchups I'm way more interested in at this point.

I've studied the videography. I've watched the 1st episode 5 times already.

Pretty impressive, IMO. IIRC, the GSP/Hardy one did very well too, but that one aired at 10 pm, right? Of course the Rashad/Rampage primetime has the TUF lead-in, but that’s still something if a show at 11 pm can do that well.
