Overeem out of DREAM.15 fight with Rodriguez

Alistair Overeem will not fight Ricco Rodriguez at DREAM.15 – and he may not fight in the promotion ever again, according to his representative.

Martin De Jong, who trains and co-manages the Strikeforce heavyweight champion, said his camp will talk to DREAM representatives at the end of this week to determine Overeem's future in the Japanese promotion.

"Right now, I can just say he's not going to fight Ricco, and he's not sure if he's going to fight in DREAM," De Jong said.

"I didn't get any contract, and Alistair didn't agree, so it's not going to happen," he said.

De Jong said the decision to skip the July 10 date stems from other issues with the promotion.

If he's as good as he thinks he is he shouldn't have to duck anybody.

Ricco needs an opponent.. can McCorkle make 265 yet?  the Japanese would go nuts over an old ex champ making a comeback vs a giant ape

He saw what went down at Strikeforce. No risks until he gets the Fedor fight.

Losing to Ricco is a lot different on your career than losing to Fedor. NOT QUITE THE SAME

overeem is still the strikeforce HW champ, he would either fight fedor or werdum regardless if he some how lost to ricco.

I'm not too worried, K-1 needs Overeem more than Overeem needs K-1.

Well if he gets beat by Ricco, which I think is unlikely, there would be no more fight with Fedor.
