Aldo vs. Gamburyan set for WEC 51

Jose Aldo has a new challenger, and it's somebody that won't fear him when it's time to fight.

WEC 51 is currently in the planning stages for Sept. 30 in Broomfield, Colo. The headliner for the event will pit featherweight champion Jose Aldo against Manny Gamburyan.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight who stated both competitors have verbally agreed to it.

WEC General Manager Reed Harris spoke to MMAWeekly Radio last week about the possibility of the fight. While he stopped short of confirming the bout, it sounded like all signs are pointing in that direction.

Manny earned the shot by beating Mike Brown, the fight makes perfect sense. Aldo will win it convincingly though.

When they aren't lost fighters like Ernie Verdecia or the like, they always have a chance.You have to understand the hype train behind Coleman when he lost.He seriously tore through some of the scariest people in MMA at the time.We thought he was going to pull off Maurice Smith's head and shit down his throat.Not a single person gave him a chance.

Oh I agree, but is Manny a "REAL" athlete? I don't like Faber. I think he's a tool that was on top longer by facing smaller guys, then when the competition got stiffer vs bigger guys he got owned. But Faber was an athelete. I dont think Gamburyan, although improved is really an athlete. He's going to get hurt vs Aldo. And I dont wish that on any fighter? But he's going to get hurt.

Wow alot of people counting Manny out. Aldo easy pick but I think Gamburyan looks tough at 145.
