Pyle replaces Kim vs. Hathaway at UFC 120

Welterweight submission artist Mike Pyle (19-7-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) looks for his first-ever two-fight win streak in the UFC against undefeated up-and-comer John Hathaway (14-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) at UFC 120.

Pyle replaces Dong Hyun Kim, who was forced out of the matchup with an undisclosed injury.

Verbal agreements are in place, and contracts are expected to be finalized shortly.

Pyle enters the matchup on the strength of an outstanding performance at UFC 115. Pyle outfought opponent Jesse Lennox and appeared on his way to a unanimous-decision win. But after surviving a brief scare following some careless striking, Pyle locked in a triangle choke and put Lennox to sleep with 16 seconds left in the fight.

Pyle appeared an early favorite for the evening's "Submission of the Night" bonus, but that was eventually awarded to Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.

good enough to fight someone better than Pyle. Again, I mean no disrespect. How about Dustin Hazelette vs Hathaway, and Pyle vs Story? sounds better, makes more sense, etc

I was really looking forward to this fight. I think Pyle os good, but this fight doesn't really help Hathaway out at all.

Good point. There are always pull-outs on UK cards and this is what the card is looking like pre-pullouts! Imagine how shit it will be on the night!

ha ha! After the UFC 85 fiasco I'm certainly NOT in a rush to buy tickets for another of their UK events. I bet there's a big chance of Akiyama pulling out also. Total bollocks!

I suggest dropping Dana a twitter or something to let him know. If he gets enough of them he might book another big fight for the card.I don't get why they didn't just book Mike B vs. Shields for the headliner. That would have been great.

UFC are fucking over UK fans, first they promise 4 shows a year every year, this year there hasnt been one, so youd think they would go all out when they finally do, instead they get the same fighters recycled over again.
