MMAjunkie.com has learned from sources close to the organization that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has verbally agreed to face Lyoto Machida.

Jackson teased the contest on his official Twitter account, and MMAjunkie.com has learned that the bout is targeted for the main event of a yet-to-be-announced Nov. 20 date.

"Almost ready to sign the bout agreement," Jackson stated on his Twitter account. "I would tell ya'll who I'm gonna get down with, but I can't spell his name. Hahaha."

As Jackson alluded to in the post, bout agreements have yet to be finalized.

In the Rashad fight, Page was a full step behind. His reaction time was SLOOOWWWW, rendering his legendary counterpunching moot.I attribute this to his lack of sparring partners at the elite level. Watching the countdown show was sad, him yelling at his sparring partner to "GTFO and get someone in here that can spar". I understood his frustration, but its HIS ASS to cover at the end of the day, he needs way better training partners.

Rampage plods around and tries to knock people out in close range. He has no leg kicks. Don't forget how elusive Machida is.Rampage's style is perfect for Machida. UD Machida.

Good fight. Could go either way. It will stay standing, and while I would generally give Machida the advantage, Rampage has great boxing defense and that sharp left hook he catches everyone with. It only takes one to connect.

He sorta found his range as Rashad tired but what i didnt like is that he didnt really set anything up, he just kinda waited until Rashad was in front of him long enough?Rampage has enough form, speed, power to hurt anyone but he just seems to stationary. That worked against Chuck and a brawling Wand in III but if Forrest and Rashad gave Page troubles with their kicks and movement, its tough not to think Page wont have trouble with Machida's.Rampge is not Shogun. He doesnt have the MT game nor the new found sophitiscated technique and strategic touch of Shogun either.

Shogun/Machida and Rashad/Rampage may be too diff to compare to this matchup but Rampage just doesnt seem to have the strategic ability to really mix it up so that he can set up his power. Can we sum it up that when guys dont stand and trade with Rampage that he doesnt do very well?Forrest used kicks but isnt a hard hitter and slow. Rashad is fast but doesnt offer kicks and the angles that Machida does.On paper, I think Machida should be a decent fav. Shogun showed that he can be countered with hands but thats because Machida was weary of Shogun's kicks, etc.Unless Machida has completely lost his touch, though he stll has to be weary of Rampage's power, I think Machida frustrates and confuses Page.

14 months off makes anyone's timing and speed a little slower, it took Rampage 2 rounds unfortunately to get comfortable and adjust to Rashad's speed.

If Rashad was too quick for him and he had no answer... I don't see how he has any chance w/ Machida
