Please. Rousimar has had to deal so much with this kind of problem in the past, that it has turned into a paramoia, when he missed the heal hook, he froze. Even if there had been a problem, he should have fought through it and complained between rounds.

I here would like to apologize to both Nate Marquardt and Greg Jackson, there was no grease on Nates legs, I personaly looked. Rousimar up till then was doing everything right, he froze, and lost, no excuses, is what it is. He is a great athlete, and will learn from this, and will be back. Sorry Nate, Sorry UFC, sorry fans.

Nate didn't grease and it was Palhares stupidity that got him knocked out, he shouldn't have stopped fighting. However, I find it hard to believe that so many people watched that fight and felt satisfied with the ending; it was a weird occurance that ended what was an interesting fight prematurely. I would have rather Nate hadn't have jumped on Palhares at that point, yes he was entitled to within the rules and palhares really shouldn't have stopped but as a fan I would have liked to have seen the fight play out to its fullest extent.

dude?!...realy?!... nate offered his legs up for inspection to every drooling old man the moment he won and all agreed. palhares may be the victim of his own lack of mental control. palhares is the kind of guy that shuts his eyes and tears a guys leg off, without paying attention to tapping and screaming, until overpowered by the ref. now he assumes that a guy that properly gets out of a heelhook must be cheating and stops fighting to talk about it. it is without  sense. the similar emotional nature of his actions are pretty clear. i for one am absolutly satisfied that nate beat him soundly. i dont think the win is diminished at all.  the nature of palhares lost the fight not a "sucker punch". this is what has been admited here and maybe palhares will calm his mind and 'be a true samurai, not just a very tough guy'.

Tight ass leg lock was not tight. There are gifs floating around on several threads, Nate's leg isn't anywhere close to being locked down.

Always been a big fan of BTT, even moreso now. Classy move to stand up and admit a mistake. I doubt many other would have.

It's hard to believe Nate isn't a little Ric Flair-ish when you look at the Salaverry, Almeida, Leites and now Palhares fights. That is FOUR fights with controversy involved due to Nate. He may not have greased at all, but he has a spotty history and I'll be damned if he didn't get out of the tight ass leg lock pretty easy!  Either way, props to Nate for capitalizing on Palhares's silly mistake. Palhares also has a lot of controversy surrounding his mental inability to release submission holds in time... It's a tough, tough situation. Defend yourself at all times.

I think fans were rightfully suspicious given Jackson's corner definitely tried getting away with greasing GSP and I think greasing is becoming a more prevalent problem. However, I hope this lays the controversy to rest in this case. Classy as hell post. Thanks.
