A welterweight bout between Charlie Brenneman (11-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Amilcar Alves (11-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will be part of the UFC's currently unannounced Jan. 22 event.

Sources close to the competitors today alerted MMAjunkie.com about the bout, which is in the process of being finalized.

Currently, few details are known about the Jan. 22 show, which conceivably could be UFC Fight Night 23, UFC on Versus 3 or some other UFC event offering.

MMAjunkie.com first reported the Jan. 22 UFC show earlier today. It's also expected to feature lightweights Melvin Guillard vs. Yves Edwards.

Both Brenneman and Alves look to rebound from their first UFC losses.

Cool. Charlie looked really good in his fight with Johny Hendricks and had won the first round pretty convincingly. Looking forward to seeing him in action again.
