by Michael David Smith | source: mmafighting.com

The previously undefeated young British fighter John Hathaway was all ready to put on a show in front of the British fans Saturday at UFC 120. But Mike Pyle had other ideas.

Pyle thoroughly whipped Hathaway for 15 minutes, taking him down and controlling him on the ground to win a lopsided unanimous decision.

Pyle had a good first down, connecting with punches by changing levels and finishing the round by putting Hathaway on his back and pounding him on the ground. Hathaway looked a little awkward in his stand-up in the first, and Pyle seemed like he had Hathaway's timing figured out.

That was easily 30-26. If the judges weren't so stingy with 10-8 rounds that could have been 30-25.

Most definitely. Kid has a bright future, just ran into a guy who has been around a long time, has a lot of talent, and had a very on- night.

This fight just proves why one should not wager on MMA. That was total ownage; I had it 30-26. I thought Hathaway was going to destroy him. Total props to Pyle.

Nice win by Mikey. Hathaway is young, with lots of potential, he'll be back better than ever.
