Galvao and Amoussou try luck at 'TUF 13'

Two faces seemed out of place Thursday at "The Ultimate Fighter 13" tryouts in Las Vegas: Strikeforce's Andre Galvao and Karl Amoussou. As it turns out, the veterans are back on the job hunt. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker today confirmed to that Galvao and Amoussou have been released from the San Jose, Calif.-based promotion.

It's a quick turnaround for the welterweight Galvao, who was put away in the first round by prospect Tyrone Woodley at this past month's "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons 2." The loss snapped a two-fight streak in Strikeforce that included wins over Luke Stewart and Jorge Patino.

French middleweight Amoussou most recently appeared overseas at DREAM.15 and was bested on points by UFC and PRIDE veteran Kazuhiro Nakamura. That setback followed a disappointing debut at Strikeforce Challengers 6 that was brought to a halt when he was accidently poked in the eye by Trevor Prangley in the first round, forcinga technical draw.

Middleweights trying out included:
Bellator and Strikeforce veteran Zak Cummings
42-year-old WEC vet Ariel Gandulla
"TUF 9" contestant Frank Lester
Bellator, Showtime and EliteXC vet Robert "Bubba" McDaniel
"TUF 7" cast member Jeremiah Rigg
Strikeforce Challengers headliner Louis Taylor
Wand Fight Team's Vitor Vianna

trying out included:
Levi "The Marine" Avera
Strikeforce and King of the Cage veteran Shamar Bailey
WEC and EliteXC vet Muhsin Corbbrey
two-time WEC fighter James Krause
Wand Fight Team's Jorge Lopez
four-time IFL veteran Bristol Marunde
Bellator season-one vet Estevan Payan
two-time Bellator fighter Charlie Rader
