Sotiropoulos: Knee pads provide a 'level playing field'

Joe Ferraro: Do they have any effect in the fight?

George SotiropoulosNot really. It just provides a level playing field. It provides the equal level of friction for both my opponent and myself

I think you have to build the bridge first, then you can get over it.

Not breaking the rules doesn't mean you're not dirty / shady. You can apply lotion an hour before your fight, its not "illegal" but its dirty as hell. You can not shower for a week before your fight, its not illegal, but its dirty as hell. See what I mean? Just because you're not breaking any official rules doesn't mean you're not dirty.

its frustrating that whenever george is asked what the benefit of the stupid kneepads are, he claims there is none and that its equal, or just dodges the question.then why the hell do you wear them george?

I guess it is a level playing field if both practice with them on and both are an equal level belt. Oh, but wait, that isn't the case so he's just a fucking cheater.

I don't think George should be getting a hard time, but I do think the commission should investigate the issue. Athletes have every right to seek advantages within current guidelines. That exposes weaknesses and inconsistencies in the rules, which allows governing bodies to make changes that better the sport.

Aren't you aware that this is UG logic?  It's the same as "Who cares if GSP greased, He would have won anyways."

no one should wear it... unless they are fighting known greasers from Team Jackson MMA
