Iole: Junior Dos Santos to fight for UFC interim title

source: prommaradio.com

With Cain Velasquez sidelined due to injury, Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports tells Pro MMA Radio's Larry Pepe that Junior Dos Santos will indeed fight for the UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship against an opponent to be named.

The Junior Dos Santos situation I think is a lot easier. He's going to fight for an interim title. They just have to find a contender to fight him.

He is going to fight for a championship. The UFC will declare the winner of Dos Santos vs X the Interim Champion.

So it is his championship fight. He will go down in history if he wins that fight.

Even if he loses subsequently to Cain on the way back, as a former UFC heavyweight champion
just like Frank Mir's second reign, and like ... Shane Carwin. Even though the belt is out there, you are recognized as  a champion.

So I think that situation is very simple. Dos Santos should fight. He will fight. They will find him a contender. He'll fight for an interim championship while Cain heals.

And that'll be that.

Kind of like Miss America, he will assume the dutues of the champion while the champion is healing.

LOL at Carwin being "vastly superior" to Brock. A vastly superior boxer maybe, but this ain't boxing. Shane was tapping like 15 seconds after the fight hit the ground.

You can't say vastly superior with a straight face. We won't really know until we see a rematch. Did Shane overcome his conditioning issue, would he fight smarter next time? Would Brock get better at striking? Would his defense improve? Both are going to improve by the time they meet next, just a matter of who did most and by how much.

Which fighter can't throw a punch to save his life?Which fighter struggled to handle a 500 year old Couture while clearly outweighing him by 50 pounds?Which fighter is only in the MMA business solely because of his WWE fans and fame thus becoming Dana's cash cow, and not because of his MMA skills whatsoever?Which fighter tapped out to Mir, who later got beaten badly by another HW individual later on?Which fighter looked like a break-dancing ballerina when getting tooled on the feet by Cain?We can play MMA jeopardy. Also, yes I just now made an account. God forbid! It's not like I have been lurking this forum forever now!Oh, as well, you're an "09er!" (lol forum kids...you truly are clever i must say -_-) and you have 8000+ posts...FFS disconnect your PC for the 1st time in 5 years and throw it out the window - your parents TWEAK every time they see the electricity bill./startargument.

Which fighter gassed in less than a round and then was strangled into submission?  Which fighter took everything the other had to offer, gave him a smile and a wink and then took him down and tapped him out? Which fighter began their career by smashing multiple cans in Bingo Halls and Casinos?  Which began their career by beating former champions, contenders and UFC hall of famers? end of argument. I can't believe I'm wasting my time with a retarded 11er.

lol@forum tools who still use the term "fanboy". You seem to hang out on gaming forums too much, take a break. To stay on topic though; you're not gonna sit there and tell me Lesnar is a better MMA fighter than Carwin. You can go on and argue it, but you'll only look stupid.
