Junior dos Santos: Weak-chinned Lesnar can't take a punch

by John Morgan | source: mmajunkie.com

Dos Santos – who had never met his opposing coach in person prior to the start of filming earlier this week – admits he was a bit shocked at just how massive Lesnar really is. However, he's far from intimidated by his giant foe.

"I'm very excited to fight with him," Dos Santos said. "He's a pretty big fighter, and I think he is very dangerous. But I think the fight against him will be very good for me because I think I am faster than him, and I'm going to use my boxing, for sure. I always use my boxing to win fights. That's going to happen again.

"I think he doesn't accept punches very well. I don't know why. I guess because he's from wrestling. I am from boxing. I have no problem with punches. The guys can punch me, and I feel nothing. I just keep going. That doesn't happen with him. He's got a weak chin."

It's about as close as you'll ever get to trash talk from the always affable Dos Santos. But he doesn't mean the words as anything other than what he considers simple fact after watching Lesnar's recent fights with Velasquez and Shane Carwin.

Dos Santos is gonna be firing on all cylinders for Brock's chin....he's gonna hit him hard and hit him often....He's gonna attack him like a savage beast.

He did set the butterfly hooks and used hand control, and keeping himself sitting up to simply stand up from there. But it was a long ways from a sweep. He never actually elevated Brock, simply used the hook to pop up.

Could have sworn Cain used an elevator technique from butterfly guard to get himself back to his feet after first takedown. I was wrong about the sweep though

FRB: if Brock was swept, he would have been on his back with Cain on top. Im glad the Beaner is now a Tiger post Brock. Its kinda like the opposite effect that guys Fedor, Aoki beat.

Brock took down a fresh Cain Velasquez who is a fuckin tiger. Brock screwed up and Cain elevator swept him and got back up. How is JDS going to stop a Lesnar takedown? Simply sprawling isn't the answer. This fight will go to the ground when Brock decides it will go to the ground. Expect to see a very patient Lesnar in top position. Like the second Mir fight which was Lesnar's best performance in MMA

this is a good matchup, although Lesnar's wrestling will come into play. If JDS works on his wrestling, I see it being a short night for lesnar.

Brock can take it, and has, he just doesn't like it. The question isn't Brock's chin, its JDS's takedown defense. That will decide this match.
