End the speculation about Mike Brown.

The former WEC featherweight champion, the rumor of a potential cut after suffering his third loss in four fights during the recent UFC Fight for the Troops 2 event, will be given another opportunity to get back into the UFC win column.

American Top Team general manager Richie Guerriero confirmed to MMA Fighting that in the days since his unanimous decision loss to Rani Yahya, Brown has been told he would remain on the roster.

Earlier this week, the 35-year-old Brown had surgery to address a torn ligament in his left hand suffered in the first round of his fight, a procedure that will have him in recovery mode for a time. While working his way through rehab, at least he knows he has a job waiting for him when he gets healthy.

I know they have a glut of 155ers but still, what DID Varner do? Seriously. Former champ. Shit talker. Wars with Cerrone and can't get a shot in the UFC? Makes you wonder. Glad for Brown, though.

Easier said than done. Some guys cut 20 lbs each time they fight. It's just not possible for them to take fights on short notice.

Yeah, but he'd of been fired after his LAST loss if he wouldn't of took the fight on short notice. SMH.

Them keeping him definitely had everything to do with him stepping in on short notice, and I'm happy they are taking care of him. I've always said fighters should train year round, and take fights on short notice all the time. Less expectations, more money, less chance of getting cut. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
