Davis: Strikeforce is missing out on me

source: tapology.com

Regarding his next career move, Davis said he was currently in the midst of entertaining various offers.

“Nothing is official yet, but we’ve had a few offers,” Davis said. “I have actually gotten a lot of U.K. and European offers. I was hoping to hear from Strikeforce, but I know they’ve started that whole thing where they’re not taking UFC fighters coming off of losses.”

Asked how he felt about Strikeforce’s unofficial policy of refusing to sign recent UFC cast-offs, Davis was objective in his assessment.

“I completely understand,” Davis said. “It’s all business and I don’t take any of this stuff personally. I still love the UFC; I have a lot of friends who work behind the scenes there. Mike Goldberg and I are very good friends, as well as his wife and I. As far as Strikeforce is concerned, I can understand why they would want to continue that policy from a business standpoint. With me, the one thing that they miss out on—and it’s my major selling point to anyone—is that my fights tend to be exciting.”

One man's trash is a another man's treasure...Prime example for Coker like a previous poster had mentioned is Werdum. I don't really think you lose anything by picking up Marcus Davis, especially if he is serious about staying at LW. This adds some credibility to and depth to a top heavy (Melendez and Thomson)weight class. I am a fan of Davis and I think it would be a great to see him slug it out with some of the SF LWs or WWs. Either way I hope he lands somewhere we can actually watch his fights and maybe see how he progresses as a fighter.

Titan FC: Sign this guy and make Davis-Baroni happen. The UFC dropped that ball.

They signed Jorge Gurgel. I don't see any reason they wouldn't sign Davis.

strange that UFC doesn't mind signing Strikeforce cast offs...actually UFC's HW champ is a SF cast off.

It's stupid, why not just pick them up right away? It's fresh matchups, what's not to like. Davis vs Daley, Davis vs Cyborg, Davis vs Zaromskis... they all sound like fun

They dont have to be Main Eventers, but exciting UFC name fighters like MARCUS DAVIS would solidify the undercard and overall success of the STRIKEFORCE event!
