Rizzo: I want to finish my career in UFC

by Derek Bolender | source: mmajunkie.com

"I'm not that old," he recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "Everybody thinks I'm 40 because, as I always say, there was the 'middle time.' It was Royce Gracie, Marco Ruas, and after that came the new guys (like me) in the middle.

"I fought with (Mark) Coleman, all these guys, and now they are older than me. I fought with Dan Severn, but I was very, very young then. People don't understand. They think I'm the same age as these guys. I'm still 36."

"The Rock" currently is riding a three-fight win streak with victories over Jeff Monson, Gary Goodridge and Ken Shamrock.

His resume has started to snowball to a certain degree. The hope is at some point it will galvanize UFC management.

Maybe a risky fighter for the UFC to have around. He's known for permanently damaging the legs of guys he's fought, even fighters he's lost to. Randleman and Couture had to have surgery after fighting him. Dana doesn't want promising heavies getting beaten up just for a win over a fighter most modern fans haven't heard of. I think he'd be reluctant to sign Imanari for the same reason.

Good point. Also if he were to somehow have gotten in, in place of Kharitonov and despatched of AA, he could have secured a rubber match against Barnett.

He should join Strikeforce. I'd rather watch him go against Arlovski than Mitrione.

Maybe they could use him against some of the up and coming hw' who they think have promise. That way they instantly get recognition for beating a 'name'. Then on the otherhand if he should get the win his name is back on everyones lips for putting a halt to to the up and comer. i.e Mitrione

One of my favourite oldskool fighters, his KO of Barnett back in the day was a thing of beauty.
