Big Nog: JDS getting black belt, Brock Lesnar can't survive

source: fightersonlymagazine.co.uk

(2:28 mark) "Brock Lesnar can't stop Dos Santos. Dos Santos is really good right now. He has fast hands ... Dos Santos he is a brown belt jiu-jitsu, he's going to get his black belt before the fight and he's great on the ground too. I see the guy improves every fight; he's getting better, better. He has very good submissions and he's going to show that in this fight, if they go to the ground."

"I think he can't survive with Junior standing up. That truly what it is. Junior is the best heavyweight striking in the game right now. Brock can't sttop him standing up."

"Brock is a very good wrestler; we know that, so Junior is training a lot of sprawls and defense.
But he's very good on the ground; I think he can surprise everyone with some submission."

That is like Coker saying SF has the best HWT's, lol...Obviously he is going to talk well about his teammate.

I was at the Q & A with Nog in Indy and he talked alot about JDS and his ability and he was sincere and said that JDS will be one of the greats.   JDS rd1 KO

I dont know that I would call Brock's takedowns worldclass. He is somewhat predictable, and doesnt seem to chain them that much. People keep saying Cain used wrestling to get up from Brock's takedowns. Thing is, I didnt realize butterfly guard was part of wrestling these days......(yes I know the second one was a nice bounce right back up to his feet). I think brock will definitely take JDS down. I dont think JDS will react like Mir did (like it was the first time in his whole life he was ever under someone) so I have doubts he gets mashed like Mir did. JDS's ability to recover/defend himself is a question mark though, so it makes for a dramatic fight. Also, Brock "has taken alot of punches" but only grazing shots on the chin, largely because he cowers up so fast. So saying the guy has a good chin, till we see him get hit on the chin......is a bit hasty (I do think he showed good heart in his fight with Carwin though).

Both are WAY smaller then Brock. Stopping a world class takedown from a 280lb man is a lot different then a 205lb man. Also getting up from underneath a 280lb man is a lot different then 205lb man.I also don't agree that Munoz and Davis were/are better wrestlers then Brock.Recap of what Lesnar did.....Lesnar also wrestled at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota.1998 NJCAA Heavyweight ChampionLesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-AmericanLesnar placed second in 1999 in the NCAA wrestling championship.Lesnar won the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship as a heavyweight.Two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion.Overall record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

Dos Santos trains with two NCAA champion wrestlers in Munoz and Davis. Neither are as big as Brock but both are better wrestlers and better all around grapplers.

That was a good interview. About Lesnar / JDS, I think the prime question is will Brock continue to wither as soon as he gets hit. I heard that people had left his camp because of Brock's alpha male style game, and obviously he was terrified after the first good shot, after surgery. If that hasn't changed he doesn't have much hope against anyone who can strike at HW.

I wanted Cain vs JDS. Imagine if Brock could strike like JDS though, how badass he'd be. O_O
