Most UFC fans NEVER watched WEC. They know Faber as the guy who fought Wineland. To buy a PPV with him as the main event is asking A LOT. The UFC is in love with the guy. They may as well ask Cruz to dive in the 1st. I'd have saved Couture-Machida for this card so you'd have Randy Couture and BJ Penn to offset Jon Fitch and Urijah Faber and appeal to the pocketbooks. Period. Cruz' belt means nothing in the UFC yet. This is a tough sell. It's not like Wineland-Faber was even any good.

say what you will but faber looked like crap in that wineland fight, didnt even stay acctive. he turned into every other wrestler in the ufc, hey layed on top and took a lame decision win. he never once, and i mean never, tried to end the fight. why award that with a title shot?why? because hes popular, not because he deserves it

Wow , Cruz is going to paint a picture on Faber's face for 25 minutes. I do expect a good fight though.

Also, I said COULD not WOULD, big difference. With the right marketing, SF roster could have some big draws.I am not saying if you bring Fedor, Overeem, etc.... over they will instantly have drawing power. However I do believe they could believe they COULD be with Zuffas marketing machine behind them.

Depending on who they match them up with. They could build up Overeem, Barnett, and Bigfoot (depending how he does in next few fights). My point is if they did the merger, they would have more depth at hwt which would lead to more buys. Also with that depth increases the likely hood of a good draw.Short term though, it's hard to argue that the merger will benefit them. Lots of dream matchups between the two orgs.Cain vs OvereemFedor vs BrockBarnett vs CarwinJDS vs Overeemetc..... Also I think you would agree that Lashley vs Batista would draw the PPV buys, I am not saying a million or anything, but put it on a main card in the spot that Couture vs Machida is in and it will draw.
