Why the complaining about Warren/Galvao?

Just watched the fight and easily see how the judges gave the fight to Warren.

The only round in question on the 30-27 scorecard for Warren should be the 1st round, and even then it is conceivable that Warren pulled it out.

I think a lot of the problem lies with people having expected Warren to get every takedown he tried, Galvao thwarting some attempts and surprising people who watched the fight. In rd 1 Galvao was able to stuff a few takedowns and end up in mount and on Warren's back, but realistically did little with the positions. Warren continued to move forward and conrol the cage the entire time. He simply outworked Galvao in rd 1.

Round 2, Galvao landed some nice knees but Warren got takedowns, moved forward and pressed the action the entire time.

Round 3 was all Warren.

Don't see what the big hullabaloo is about...

I think it's 'cause almost everyone who watched the fight thought Galvao won.

I don't think effective aggression is very vague at all.  It is meant so that someone who is getting carved up by a counter puncher yet keeps moving forward Leonard Garcia style should be scored as losing.  I'm not sure why so many struggle with this concept.

It's very common. The rules are vague and obtuse. The fighters don't understand them and depending on who you speak to in the Commissions you will get different answers. But, as always, there is profit in confusion so the powers that be PREFER that the rules are not clear...

"You seem upset.""You're just exposing yourself as a BJJ cult member and amateur debator."I believe I already mentioned:"Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person unconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, such as to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others have those feelings.""Have that nice day I mentioned!!!"I will, thanks!!!You keep raging against the world because people on a mma website like BJJ. That's a very healthy mental outlook!!!

It is scary that someone who does this for a living could so badly misinterpret the judging criteria.

Getting your face beaten-in while moving forward isn't cage control. IMO.

Mr.Lawlor, you are delusional here. That is all. Did you read Chuck Wolfe's (30-27 judge) interview yesterday? He said don't leave it in the hands of the judges. A JUDGE saying, "Don't leave it in the hands of the JUDGES." As a fighter how does that make you feel knowing there's guys like this out there? He also basically said that he refuses to score an even round 10-10. This man is clearly incompetant at his job, and is actually TELLING you not to trust him. The only justification he gave towards his score was that Joe Warren fans seem to be happy. Well I am a Joe Warren fan, and I'm not happy. Joe Warren lost the first two rounds of that fight, it was plain as day, hence the uproar. Sometimes the judges legitimately fuck up, and this was one of those cases. You and your fellow fighters put your lives in the hands of judges like Chuck Wolfe when you go to a decision, these are the people in control of your careers. If I was a fighter, that decision would scare the fuck out of me.
