Quotes from Randy Couture's post-fight interview:

“This is it. I think the last time we had this conversation I had all my teeth.”

“He’s a tremendous fighter. It felt like I was standing still out there, and he caught me with a great kick.”

“The fans have always treated me great, but to go out on that ovation was very special.”

+1 After I saw Randy beat the shit out of a prime Tito Ortiz almost half his age, I became a fanatic of the sport!  Thank you Randy!  That fight inspired me to start training, and I became addicted fast!

Thanks for all of the amazing fights Randy!I'm happy we are all able to see Randy retire close to the top of his game. At the age of 47 he can still hang with the best of them,(3) years ago he was the Heavy Weight Champion of the UFC. There is no shame in loosing to Machida. Going out on one loss is a lot better than riding a 4+ fight loosing streak. It's better this way anyways. If Randy had won, we may have lot one of the best fighters in the LHW division in Machida and Randy sounded like he would have retired Win, loose or Draw. So I consider the outcome to Saturday nights fight between Couture and Machida a complete success for everyone involved. Randy goes out like a true warrior and Machida gets Knock out of the Night Status on a Hall of Fame'r.

If he wouldn't have done fight science on the history channel with Tito I woulda probably thought it was a bunch of crap from inexperienced punks. But since they chose the best. I can dig it. Lol

No prob Sierra and thanks. I got sidetracked tho, the thread was for the legend and I only wish now he had not been taken out like he did. That damn kick! I honestly would not be suprised if Randy watches that ko a hundred times or so and deicides to come back.. Randy was reaching with his punches because of Machida's quickness and footwork. and his td's were shrugged easily. He looked completly out of his game. Props to Machida, he made Randy fight his fight and the end result was rough.Machida was super accurate as usual. Those knees Randy took when he tried to shoot roughed him up and made him forget about his game plan. Still my man tho.
