Hominick can earn another title shot with two wins

by Andy Cotterill | source: mm-eh.ca

But Hominick said that UFC president Dana White and matchmaker Joe Silva were thrilled with his performance, and told him that they want him back as soon as he’s healthy — two more wins and he’ll get another crack at the title.

“They were definitely pleased at the performance and I proved a lot of people wrong — I wasn’t supposed to get out of the first round with Jose and I almost finished him in the fifth.”

Hominick’s trainer Shawn Tompkins commented to MM-eh via text message.

“He’s ready for a rematch and so am I…tomorrow if possible.  Everybody in between — you are our target, we will finish you quick.”

That would be a good fight if Hominick could keep it on the feet.

When did Griffin become such a force? I would take Hominick over him at 145 as well. He got my respect for hanging tough with the champ yet is still underrated here. I dont think Griffin could survive 5 with Aldo.

Hominick is a 145er. He might be able to reach 135 but he is most comfortable at 145. Mark stood with Aldo for 5 rounds and gave Aldo more trouble in the 5th than any other fighter ever did. Mark learns from his losses and comes back stronger each time. A re-match would be great!

Pretty sure Hominick learned a lot from this fight so a rematch might not go down the same way.

I know he did, dude. He had no choice back then if he wanted to fight in the ufc.I have met him many times, he has a small frame and is very lean. He's not a big guy - certainly not bigger than Aldo (who is MASSIVE for 145)

BIG fan of Hominick, who was 145lb champ in the TKO org for a while. but Aldo is on another level, and healthy, would be just too much for Hominick. but TTT for Mark the Machine Hominick
