Undefearted Heavyweight Shane Del Rosario has withdrawn from an upcoming bout with fellow undefeated prospect Daniel Cormier following a car accident this past week, MMAjunkie.com today learned from sources close to the event.

Details on Del Rosario's accident are scant at this time, but it's believed his injuries are serious enough to keep him from fighting on the card.

A lightweight bout between K.J. Noons and Jorge Masvidal will likely take its place, according to a separate source.

"Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" takes place June 18 at American Airlines Center in Dallas and airs live on Showtime.

Del Rosario was waiting at a stoplight in Laguna Niguel, Calif,. when nn allegedly intoxicated driver struck and titalled his car. The driver, Kimberly Essayian, was booked on charges of driving under the influence. His ttrainer. Colin Oyama, said there is concern about whether he will be able to return to MMA, and that he is bring a lawsuit against the woman that hit him.

"He's having some serious physical difficulties," Oyama told MMAjunkie.com. "He's planning on [fighting again], but the injuries are serious enough to where it's kind of in question whether he can or not. We're hoping that he can. We'll know more in six months."

"He was at a complete stop. This lady was drunk at 6 p.m. – I'm not sure how you're drunk at 6 p.m. – but she lost control of her car, smashed into him, and apparently tried to flee the scene. The cops chased her down and caught her."

"Obviously, he's contacted an attorney, and he's gone to some of the best specialists around, so we'll see. Zuffa and Strikeforce have definitely helped with that. We'll know more in a couple of months.

"He's been trying to go to rehab as much as possible, but it's difficult with the lawsuit in what you can and can't do. Everything you do is affecting the lawsuit. People following him (and saying), 'Oh, he's not hurt, he can walk.' It's like, come on. Are you kidding me?"

I agree, but this is a great fight Noons usually does some quick turnarounds for fights besides after this last one with Nick, if he wins he probably would fight Gilbert pretty quickly afterwords

I was really excited to see both those guys get tested. Hopefully they'll still get Cormier a fight. Noons vs. Masvidal should be pretty great.

I'd like to know when Pat Healy is going to get a fight as well. The guy deserves another shot at the main show after beating Beerbohm (Who was rewarded for his loss with a shot at Aoki on the main show, while Pat who is healthy hasn't fought since)
