Scott Coker quietly demoted in Zuffa organization

source: cagepotato.com

No official announcement was made about the title change and its unclear if Coker’s role with the promotion will change as a result, however the agenda for the week-long event revealed the news that managed slipped under the media radar.

The question is, will someone like former WEC GM and current UFC VP of community relations, Reed Harris be named as Coker’s successor or will UFC president Dana White’s title become “UFC and Strikeforce president?” I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

From what I read, they didn't keep the soldiers. Only Scott and his assistant remain.

It's a title who cares? They sold the company. That's not ZUFFA's fault.

Scott is good people and I'm sure he will be taken care of. That said, this is corporate warfare 101. Keep the soldiers, displace/remove the leadership.

Did you guys really think that Zuffa would retain every SF employee, in their same position, unti the end of time?  LOL.  Business as usual meaning they are going to keep putting on SF fights, and keep marketing the league.  Crying about business as usual, just shows you probably work at McDonalds and no nothing about business.  When Zuffa got rid of the SF matchmaker, you knew the writing was probably on the wall for Coker, as far as keeping his exact former position.  The reality is he probably makes more $ now, with less pressure on him.  No reason to cry for Scott Coker...

and again, im pretty sure this was all negotiated in the buyout...whenever a company is taken over the highest priority of the top guy in the org is to secure his employment agreement/rights...assuming coker's lawyer knew what he was doing, title, pay, duties etc. (at least for the near term) were all worked out as part of the acquisition

think you are taking "business as usual" too literally...his position probably stayed the same, his title just changed, which is meaningless...im pretty sure the same thing happened to reed harris when zuffa bought wec
