Lytle's 50k non-profit MMA grant successful

source: The Underground

At the beginning of the month, Chris Lytle came on the UG and asked for the UG's aid in fundraising for a free MMA program for inner city kids. The Pepsi Refresh Project vets proposals for worthy causes, and then makes final decisions on funding based on public voting.

UFC Welterweight Chris Lytle is currently tied with Anderson Silva for most OTN Bonuses (5 Fight of the Nights, 2 Submission of the Nights,, and 1 Knockout Of The Night).  He has never been knocked out or submitted to defeat.

As detailed below, through voting by the UG, the MMA proposal went from no where to 25th, to 11th, and finally to a winning 9th place! Votes have to be checked, but things look good. Official announcment to come on 23rd.

You guys are awesome. I started to coming to this website over ten years ago, and I don't think there's been more than twenty days total that I haven't been on here since that time. This place is truly something special, and I couldn't imagine what MMA would be like for me without it. The support you showed for us on this was overwhelming, and I can't thank you enough. When the voting stopped we were in 9th place, so if we make it through the auditing process we will have $50,000 to open up our facility. I personally cannot wait to teach the kids who will be a part of our program to box, and I know the other coaches who teach other disciplines are excited as well. Thank you once again for all of your support.

Hey everyone, just wanting see if you could help. I've been helping the PAL club(non profit)start an MMA program to help kids in the inner city of Indy to train for free with positive role models. It is also free to veterans suffering from post traumatic stress syndrom. We are trying to get a 50K grant from Pepsi by getting the most votes so I thought I would see what you could do. Go to refresheverything.com/indypalmma and vote please.

Thanks

Chris Lytle

Thank you to everyone who has voted so far. We're now in 25th place out of over 300 entries for one of the $50,000 Pepsi Grants. I really believe we can help out a ton of kids with our program we're putting together. This contest go's on until the end of May. I want to see how many spots we can jump tonight with as many MMA fans as possible texting in their votes. Text 106352 to the number 73774!

Last I checked we were in 11th place out of about 350 and I know much of that is all the votes from everyone here. We were in about 80th when I first posted this so I just wanted to thank everyone. Its over on May 31 so a few more days and I think we can do it. All we need to to be in the top 10 and we get the 50k for Indy PAL so every vote is greatly appriciated. Thanks

Lights Out
