CSAC overturns decision after DeJesus tests positive for marijuana

by Damon Martin | source: mmaweekly.com

Following an appeal filed to the California State Athletic Commission, the Tachi Palace Fights bout between Russ Miura and Isaac DeJesus has been ruled a ‘no decision’.

The commission made the ruling at a hearing held on Monday.

Miura’s management team at Iridium Sports Agency appeared before the commission for Monday’s meeting, after filing a written appeal on behalf of their fighter due to DeJesus testing positive for marijuana following their fight from May 6.

While commissioners did squabble briefly when discussing the performance enhancing effects of marijuana, overall because it is an illegal substance and treated as such in testing, the ruling followed suit.

He has a point.Sometimes cops will just take your weed and tell you to go home.I don't think there have been many times where a cop has pulled a balloon of heroine out of someone's pocket and says "Go home before you get into any more trouble."It's kind of like... jaywalking is barely illegal. Shooting at a cop car is very illegal. If you can do something and get off with a verbal slap on the wrist from cops, it's pretty safe to say that it's barely illegal. Though I do get the point you were trying to make.

You might be able to smoke some weed and hit the treadmill, but thats about it. And depending on the method of ingestion(smoking, eating, vaporizing) it could still have a negative impact on your cardio, ie. you not being able to hit your peak before actual fatigue sets in. As for performing at any level above shitbag. Not going to happen. I am an avid smoker, but even I know the negative effects. My senior year in high school was the last year I played football. We had blown out every opponent on are way to racking up a 7-0 start to the season. Are next opponent was a school of no consequence. A private christian academy. I loved weed but had never smoked it before a game. Well I burned right before putting the pads on. Huge mistake. I was a D linemen. Usually tackle, but for this game I was moved to nose because they has a 9th grade center. I couldn't remember plays are schemes. It was pathetic. Despite being high, I was still able to line up and crush this kid, play after play. Well on one particular play, I jumped the snap perfect and smashed him. He shotgun snapped the ball over the quarterback. I ran past them both and had probably the only chance to score a touchdown in my entire (pathetic) football career(career lol). Instead of scooping and scoring, I just kicked the ball. Twenty five yard from the endzone and I kicked the fumble like a soccer ball. NOT ONCE, oh no. I kicked four times trying to pick it up before another linemen had the good since to jump on it. At that moment I truly realized that there was no way to perform while under the effects of MJ. You might be able to run, hit, do other meaningless task, but as for anything that might require using the old noodle. Naw, not going to happen.

It's truly awful for drilling, like...I would just walk off the mat sometimes because I couldn't learn new shit while high, but for sparring, it made me a machine.
