Charles Oliveira vs. Joe Lauzon report is false

by Eduardo Ferreira | source: tatame.com

Tatame.com recently reported that "Charles Oliveira, Joe Lauzon likely to meet at UFC 138.

After a No Contest against Nik Lentz, Brazilian lightweight Charles “do Bronx’s” Oliveira is expected to return to the UFC cage at November 19th, against fellow submission specialist Joe Lauzon.

According to Oliveira’s trainer, the bout is expected to take place at UFC 138. “They spoke about a possible rematch (against Nik Lentz), but he’ll have to go under surgery, so the opponent might be Joe Lauzon”, Ericson Cardozo told TATAME Tuesday night.

Further investigation reveals that this report is categorically false.

arghhhhh I called this fight. I wish it was for real. Oliviera vs. Cerrone is still an awesome fight though. 155 is the best division in the UFC. Unbelievable.

I'm shocked so many people see Oliveria as a clear favorite in this fight. He's 2-1-1 in the UFC, and although he has looked great, he has been caught in a submission, doesn't seem to be overally powerful, and is everyone forgeting that Lauzon is 7-3 in the UFC, only losing in Fight's of the Night to three guys farther up the ladder than Charles? I think if it ever happens it's a great fight and real competitve, but to make Oliveira a huge favorite is just ridiculous.
