Soares: Silva could make weight and beat anyone welter to heavy

"Anderson Silva has a chance to beat anyone in the world. I don't care what weight class you're in, you know. It's not an easy fight for anyone, whether it's heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, and I believe if he really wanted to, he could probably even make welter if he had to. I don't know if he can or he would, but sometimes I believe he can."

"There's nothing from our side that's preventing (Anderson Silva vs. GSP). Pretty much to be honest with you, there's never been anything from our side from preventing any fight. We have our opinions but at the end of the day, whomever the UFC has put in front of us, we've always fought. We've never picked opponents.

:"We might have had, you know, when they ask us what our choices are, we may have different choices or different opinions, but we've always fought whomever they've put in front of us. So if the UFC wants us to fight Georges St. Pierre, fine, you know. Anderson says 'hey, have him move up in weight, or we'll do a catchweight, whatever.' But it's really up to the UFC, not up to us."

Ok, another question you won't answer: Since you consider Fedor the greatest heavyweight that ever lived, and you previously said Anderson (along with Machida) was the biggest threat to Fedor, and you don't know who would win, why are you now saying that the claim that Anderson "has a chance to beat" anyone at heavyweight (meaning guys you don't think are as good as Fedor) is "a blatant lie"?   Obfuscate

He started late.. His career length is what matters.

Literally the only thing Rampage has over Anderson is wrestling, and Rampage does not use his wrestling, so it's moot. Even when he does take opponents down, he has no GnP (unless he follows an opponent down after dropping them) and no submissions, much like Henderson. If this fight ever happens I will happily bet Narly on it, loser to leave the UG forever. In fact I will make that same bet with Narly if Anderson fights Shogun or Tito as well (you know, all that 3x or 4x better competition Machida has faced).

Its funny, and almost a little sad how angry the Silva fans are getting on here. But fear not little people, your champ will never challenge any of the people in discussion. So he can live on in your head as the world's best fighter.

I think Jon Jones, JDS and Cain may disagree.

blatant lying, this would be a tossup fight, and sorry Rampage would not get demolished. Rampage, for maybe more than a decade, has been fighting way better comp than Anderson. You want some straight talk, Anderson has had title fights against Cote,Lutter,Leites. Rampage has had non title fights against Chuck Sakuraba Machida Rashad Wandy etc....MW is no where near lhw, lhw is not just better, it is better like 300% or 370% some weird number. Chael Sonnen a failed lhw, was a title challenger yo.use your reasoning skills, yahear

I am a huge Anderson Silva fan, but this is a blatant lie, Soares is just hyping his guy, and is going overboard. If any of this was even remotely true, Anderson Silva would have fought Shogun or Jones. Both have very clearly called him out, even though he has fought at lhw, he very much has made it strongly known he dont want to fight them, then he will go and say he will fight GSP.Once he fights and beats lhw's or heavyies who are not stylitic matchup for him, this will be true.Forget about the heavies, go and beat Jones Rampage Shogun Rashad Davis then come back and say this stuff.NoDoubt

I agree but it appears everyones scared to fight Jones. obviously not actually scared but come on usaully guys are calling out champs left and right for a shot at the title. Its funny because no one seems to want any part of Jones. Its all this well Ill fight whoever Dana tells me too...But can you blame them?

I'm sensing a slight bias on The_Spider's part.
