Condit: I'd rather fight Diaz than GSP for title

source: If you are victorious over BJ Penn at 137 you will be next in line for the Welterweight title. Who would you rather fight for the Championship Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz?

Carlos Condit: OH… that’s kind of a tough question! Georges St-Pierre is part of Jackson’s camp so I don’t want to see him lose his title. But, on the other hand, I would rather fight Diaz for a couple different reasons. Mainly the fact that he’s not a team mate of mine so I’d like to bypass that whole… you know, any complications that would arise and also I’ve wanted to fight Diaz for a really long time. I think a fight between Diaz would be a very entertaining fight for the fans. Your next battle is about two months away but, have you given any thought to how you would like this fight to play out against the “Prodigy”?

Carlos Condit: Well you know… I want to win! (Laughs) I think I have a lot of different tools to make that happen. BJ is definitely the toughest guy that I’ve ever fought. But, in the past I’ve always risen to the occasion and the tougher the opponent the better I fight. So, this isn’t going to be any different.

who else would i blame if his fights are great when 2 people come to fight?  the variable is the opponent.  when the variable is timid and only tries to survive, the fight is boring (to you)  when the variable comes to take the belt it's always exciting.  but i guess since you said this isn't fact i might as well just give up being a fan of GSP.  Chris Leben, here i come!

I think solely blaming the opposition is a simpleton way to write off numerous dull performances and not close to fact.

No, I like a fighter, who comes to fight.  Not win on points by using the most conservative gameplan possible every time.

cool, you like a brawler.  i'm happy for you!  i like a technical fighter who dominates every time out.  at least we can agree on Anderson?    your biggest gripe about GSP is he doesn't fight to his potential (you say)  i think that's pretty good if that's all you have to worry about.   to answer your question about the last exciting fight...  You only need to look back as far as the last guy that came to take the belt.  thanks, have a nice day.
