Spike.com to stream all Bellator prelim cards

In a move that's sure to spark lots of speculation, Bellator Fighting Championships today announced its preliminary-card fights now will stream live and for free on Spike.com.

The two-hour streams, which kick off each Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT), begin with this week's Bellator 49 event.

Bellator's main cards currently air on MTV2 (and in high-definition on EPIX), which are both owned by Viacom, which also operates Spike TV. The UFC's live broadcasts on Spike TV end this year. However, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has continually stated that his organization is committed to MTV2 and has made no suggestions the promotion could love to Spike TV.

Still, today's announcement is sure to raise eyebrows.

Win win for the fans, Bellator will end up on spike, viacom isn't stupid, they have a hole to fill Bellator being on spike will help them tremendously, Resulting in better competition for the UFC, which will result in better mma fights for the fans.UFC will also benefit from bellator being on spike, establishing that the UFC isn't a mmonopoly , that is until they buy BFC

They need to move to Friday nights. Period. Saturdays are for UFC (seems to always be an event), boxing or (during season) college football. Bellator on Friday night gives them a chance. Not on Saturday against big time NCAA football or boxing events or the UFC.

Just because I'm not retarded I wanna point out1- I love seeing solid local fighters as they often have the most to prove and will come out and bang2- The days UFC does not have an event, or their card sucks, I will be able to watch some awesome fights!
