UFC 134 purses: Big Nog $500,000?

source: fightersonlymagazine.co.uk

FightersOnly is reporting that because one function of athletic commissions is to record and release details of purse payments, at UFC 134, this information was released to Brazilian publications, including the magazine Tatame.

However, two days ago the website mma-manifesto.com posted a completely unofficial estimation of the purses, which appears to be the source for the figures that FightersOnly is attributing to Tatame.

Anderson Silva: U$200,000
Yushin Okami: U$23,000

Mauricio Rua: U$150,000
Forrest Griffin: U$125,000

Edson Barboza: U$112,000 (includes 100k FOTN)
Ross Pearson: U$108,000 (includes 100k FOTN)

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira: U$500,000 (Includes 100k KOTN)
Brendan Schaub: U$10,000

Stanislav Nedkov: U$12,000
Luiz Cane: U$19,000

Thiago Tavares: U$30,000
Spencer Fisher: U$26,000

Rousimar Palhares: U$14,000
Dan Miller: U$15,000

Paulo Thiago: U$36,000
David Mitchell: U$6,000

Raphael Assunção: U$36,000
Johnny Eduardo: U$6,000

Erick Silva: U$12,000
Luis Ramos: U$6,000

Yuri Alcantara: U$12,000
Felipe Arantes: U$6,000

Yves Jabouin: U$12,000
Ian Loveland: U$6,000

As always, the above figures are simply estimates of base salaries, and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event. Further, due to the unusual nature of the release of the numbers, they cannot be relied upon as accurate. Figures that are particularly dubious include:
Yushin Okami: U$23,000
Rousimar Palhares: U$14,000

So I take it you're ignoring the fact that Anderson owns multiple houses, and recently purchased one that was 2.5 million? Not exactly chump change, and, I dunno , maybe the size of someones house doesn't always determine how much money they have? Forrest Griffin still drives the shitty ass car he won on TUF, doesn't mean he's not very financially well off.

I'm not sure about them all, but I know the Pearson numbers are wrong. The TUF winner is set on one pay scale (we'll call it tier 1) that is much better than the posted numbers, the runner up is set on a another tier (we'll call it tier 2) and the rest of the contestants are set on a third (tier 3). As for Barboza, those numbers don't seem too far off. He was an unknown up-and-comer with only a 6-0 record. If he was signed to 4k/4k for his first fight and his contract states a 1k/1k increase per win, that puts him at 6k/6k. I'm sure when he re-signs he will get a much more lucrative contract, but the current numbers don't seem too far off (give or take 1-2K)

There's not a god damn single person who bought the PPV to watch Brandon fucking Schaub. If he doesn't like it, McDonald's is hiring.

Its how the UFC does no name fighters they first have to come in and "Play the Game" take the fucking worst contract of all time and if they actually win excitingly they will reneg and get a slightly better contract and if they get the belt then they get even more. The reason there isn't fighters crying left and right about pay is because - 1. UFC is a monopoly talk shit and you fighting at a state fair because bellator doesn't even want the rep of taking UFC washouts.- 2. Sponsor money and this is the bulk of the money the fighters are making. Dana has said it himself in interviews that the 200k to show money is what we are obligated to pay we dont have to give them anymore but we do offer the FOTN etc so its up to the fighters to earn it they aren't just throwing millions at every fighter who earns a decision victory they would be out of business like Afflicition. Also that 8,000 to Barboza is more like 6500 after taxes. Why you think every fighter on the card that wasn't Spyda was rocking the big Spartan fight gear apparal they need all the sponsor money they can get. Its like i'm the only one who watches the interviews and see's where these fighters live besides maybe 5 of the top UFC fighters they are not big ballin sorry to break it to you..Show me some UFC Fighters houses that are ballin besides GSP, Brock, Andys house is small as fuck.
