Ortiz vs. Lil Nog verbally agreed for UFC 140 in Toronto

by Joe Ferraro | source: http://www.sportsnet.ca

A source has informed me that verbal agreements are in place for former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito (The Huntington Beach Bad Boy) Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio (Minotouro Nogueira to square off on Dec. 10 at UFC 140 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Ortiz and Nogueira were originally matched up for UFC Fight Night 24, which took place on March 26, but Ortiz was forced to withdraw from the bout after sustaining a serious cut during training. Lil Nog was then matched up against Phil Davis, a bout he ended up losing via unanimous judges decision, which was his second loss in a row after he fell short against Ryan (Darth) Bader at UFC 119.

Hard fight for Tito to finish with ground and pound. Flash KO? I suppose that could happen.Even if he can ground him for a while...if Tito gasses at all and the fight is standing he is going to get jacked up.

Ortiz is about 1/20th the wrestler Davis is. I really don't see him able to use the same gameplan Davis did. Plus Davis vs Nog was more than half standing and even then it was boring. Btw the Ufc has lined up Nog with 4 strikers. Cane, Forrest, Franklin and Vera. It's not their fault he's pulled out of 2 of those contests and Franklin and Forrest pulled out of the other two.
