Dana White: Diaz back in title contention if he beats Penn

source: mmamania.com

"I don't see (Diaz skipping a press con) happening again. He knows, we've talked. Seriously, I would be shocked if he didn't show up at another press conference and if he does, I don't even know what to say. I guess that would be the end of it. He doesn't have to answer one question if he doesn't want to. I just want him to sit there and then get up and do the [face off]. I don’t want him to not be Nick Diaz. I just need him to show up to stuff like that."

If BJ beats him he had no business getting in the octagon with GSP anyway.

After posting over 11,000+ times, i'd think you would know alittle about MMA. He's not even close to being the best in the world at 170#'s, let alone P4P....There are a few 155#'s that beat him i think........

Diaz poses absolutely no threat to GSP in any any facet of the fight. Diaz is an overrated thug, there are numerous guys in the UFC that could beat him at #170...I'd be willing to bet a few of the #155's could also...

Sounds about right. It was originally a 'champion vs champion' bout. No reason why Nich shouldn't get the shot. If he loses, oh well just place him a few rungs lower

Diaz deserves the title shot because it's the matchup people want to see. End of story. People were wetting their pants in excitement when the bout was first announced and they bitched like they found out they were adopted when it was cancelled. The UFC is in the business of putting on the fights people want to see. They've wanted this matchup for awhile and nothing has changed that (yet). Who else would people rather see in there with GSP?

How amazing would it be to have Nick at a press conference and him just ignoring everybody and saying fuck off. I would laugh the entire time.

people love to harp on BJ's record, but when you fight only #1 contender bouts or against the champ, your record will not be spotless. BJ never gets a night off, always in there with the best.

So you think a guy who was going to fight for the title but did not for rather silly reasons, who then goes on to beat a perennially highly regarded fighter who just KO'd Hughes and drew with #2 Fitch, should for some reason no longer be in title contention?
