Soares: Silva doesn't feel Sonnen deserves next shot

Anderson Silva's manager Ed Soares recently sat down with Sherdog's 'Rewind' radio to discuss the champion's future plans. Who did he think was deserving of a title fight and who did he think was not? Chael Sonnen has laid down the gauntlet, but does he deserve it? And what about Michael Bisping?

Soares on whether Chael Sonnen should get the next title shot against Anderson Silva: “Anderson just feels that he doesn’t deserve it yet. He doesn’t deserve it yet. … A lot of people are interested in the fight. It’s a big fight. Anderson’s not ducking him. Anderson, right now, is focused on recouping his shoulder, and basically he’s going through physical therapy on that just to get that back 100 percent.

But you know what? Whoever Dana [White] puts in front of us, for the most part, we’re always going to take the fight. [Anderson has] never dodged any fights. It’s really not up to us to determine. … I’m not saying that’s who we want or who we don’t want. People ask my opinion, and I see what Anderson’s saying. He’s fought him once. He had his opportunity, but hey, if Dana wants to put the fight on again, we’ll cross that bridge when it comes.”

On whether Michael Bisping would be a suitable challenger if he beats Jason Miller: “I’ll be honest with you: I never even really thought of Bisping too much. Not that I didn’t respect him as a fighter -- I do. It was just that it didn’t cross my mind because there’s so many things happening all the time. People talk about Chael and Brian Stann, and sometimes people are focused on the TUF show. But I think Bisping could be a good opportunity. GSP could be a good opportunity. There’s a lot of great opportunities, and I do think the Chael fight could potentially sell. It could be a big seller. I think it could be a huge pay-per-view. So I see all angles of it, but I’m just expressing what Anderson has talked to me about. That’s how he feels.”

You people disgust me. You guys are probably the same low lives that tried to tarnish Fedor's legacy by claiming he "ducked" UFC and blah blah, now you turn on Silva as well. The guy has gone through the entire MW division. Remember when people were claiming he is ducking Yushin Okami?MMA fans for the most part are thankless scum.

The issue was the disclosure. As they concluded the hearing the point that was made was that "clearly the disclosure did not occur." The entire fucking hearing was about the disclosure. More than one doctor confirmed the therapy was necessary and there was testimony to that effect during the hearing.Sonnen is not my hero I'm just stating the truth here. The issue was the disclosure. You do not have the authority to shoot down "quotes from reporters." If we can't rely upon the media for information then who can we? Bureaucrats? You honestly implying the media is less trustworthy than a government commission in one of the most fucked up states in the entire country? You're relying alot on inferences. Infer your way out of that one.Good day, sir. I hope trashing another human being on an internet forum so you can hug Anderson's nuts makes you happy. It's a fucking sport. A GAME. Get over it.And get over yourself too. You're a perfect person? Definitely not. Your rude and insulting posts are proof of that.

At no point during the hearing did they say they changed WHY he was being suspended. At no point did ANY employee of the CSAC say that Sonnen was suspended for a "disclosure issue". It enever happened. It is what you want to believe happened, because your hero said that's waht it was. The same hero who is a proven consistent liar.  The CSAC is the only one who can change the suspension's reasoning. They never did. They reduced the length of his Suspension for Steroids based on his proven lies. You have nothing factual from the CSAC, only your lies and some quotes from reporters. You can keep trying to spread your lies, and I will be right here to shoot them down. :-)

By believing those things he claimed, you are aligning yourself with the notion that Sonnen is a complete moron.  The Doctor from the UFC, that he claimed he thought was from the state, had an email address that ended in, not Come on.  Chael also claimed that he thought his phone conversation with Kieth Kizer (the one he was LYING about) was enough clearance to be shooting roids into yourself. Chael had no idea what a T.U.E. was? He has no idea that you needed to fill out paperwork months in advance, allow them to run tests and confirm your condition?  To align yourself with that is not smart on your part. Sonnen grew up and trained with guys who DO have T.U.E.s...and you want to try and argue that Chael really didn't know how to get one?

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to prove here. The automatic suspension for failing the drug test was wrong. It is clear after the hearing that it was for disclosure. So you want me to admit the technicality that it was for failing a drug test? Fine but what does it matter if that's no longer factually correct. The issue is failure to disclose. The hearing showed that. Fine, you're right about why at the very beginning it was for the drug test results. Soon after, you were wrong about why he was being suspended and all the way until now and in perpetuity you'll be wrong about the official decision regarding the original suspension. You want to be happy that the commission then decided they were going to be of the opinion that he lied? Cool. I hope that really does something for you. Maybe it'll satisfy you to the point of not feeling the need to start these arguments in every thread.Good day, sir.

I can't understand anyone not seeing how Sonnen is deserving of this title shot. I'm a huge Anderson fan and I think this fight needs to happen to answer the questions that the first fight posed.

It was their opinion that he was lying. Sonnen claimed there was alot of confusion and that he was under the impression that he was allowed. He claimed he thought the doctor who said he was ok spoke for the state. Maybe he's right, maybe he's lying. You don't know which it is so stop acting like you do. Saying he's a liar is not a fact, it's an opinion and therefore fighter bashingBeing a car salesman and playing poker semi-pro does not qualify you to read people at this level. Sorry. Not trying to shit on your job, sir, but it's the truth.

The hearing showed that the issue was disclosure. This was due to more than just the testimony of one person. Why don't you actually go and look at the details of the hearing. It should make things more clear for you.His original suspension, which was at first one year long, was reduced to 6 months for failure to disclose. That was the official ruling. The automatic suspension for failing the drug test was standard but incorrect. Upon further elucidation, the decision was to modify the suspension to correctly reflect the facts. The original suspension was changed, it wasn't a new suspension. Thus the original suspension was for disclosure. You might want to look up the definition of manners. You, sir, have displayed them rather sparingly since your registration.
