Overeem joins Xtreme Couture, calls Golden Glory 'harmful management'

source: 5thround.com

“A month ago, I split with Golden Glory” said Alistair Overeem. “This was due to the result of a year-and-a-half, two years of small dissatisfaction points. There has been issues in the past, sometimes small, sometimes big. Overall, we always worked them out.

“During the contract negotiations with the UFC, something happened – and I’m not going to go into details because then the story is going to become a little too complicated – something happened that I found out by myself, that was kept secret from me.”

“Because Bas wasn’t there, I hired a lawyer to go through the contract with me, step-by-step,” Overeem shared. “What me and the layer found out were there were details in the contact that were to my disadvantage, that were advantage to Golden Glory, which were also not explained to me by Golden Glory – particularly Bas because I had daily contact with him over the phone and email.

“They were not doing their job. Not only that, it was such a disadvantage that it also caused a breach in trust. I like to work with people I can trust. This UFC contact is the biggest contract in my life. It’s the biggest moment in my life. The biggest fights are coming now. There can’t be miscommunications, it has to be clear.

“For me, they are not a good management, they are a bad management, they are a harmful management.”

You are talking about Imperial Athletics. Rashad does train there with Bigfoot Silva, JZ, Santiago, Villefort brothers, Anthony Johnson, Tyrone Spong, Cosmo Alexandre etcBut Rashad, Lawal, Cormier and some other ex wrestlers are also personal friends and do train together even if they are on different "teams". Overeem probably would not have trained at Imperial since him and Bigfoot are not exactly friends

Oh, I was under the impression that it was a new camp that rashad was setting up, but when i stop to think about it for approx 10 seconds that makes no sense. Shame though, would of been the perfect set of guys for Reem to train with...but since they are alligned with Cain at AKA I will assume that will never happen.

Nothing against GG at all, but this is a GREAT move for REEM, long term. It might make that big of a difference over the next six weeks.
