Mike Pierce vs, Josh Koscheck at UFC 143 on Feb. 4

It's on! KOS tried wiggling outta this one too, but Feb 4th he's mine.

The welterweight title has taken wild ride lately, taking various fights with it. GSP was scheduled to defend his title versus Nick Diaz at UFC 137. Diaz was then replaced with Carlos Condit, again with the ttle on the line.

Then GSP hurt his knee, and the main event ended up being Nick Diaz vs. BJ Penn; Condit was left without an opponent, and will end the year with just a single fight in 2011. Then GSP's knee injury turned out to be so severe he would not be able to defend his title for nearly a year, so an interim title was declared: Nick Diaz vs. Carlos Condit.

Condit had been scheduled to fight Josh Koscheck, who likewise had only a single fight in 2011. Now Pierce has announced that he will be the replacement for Condit vs Josh Koshcheck at UFC 143 on Feb. 4, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fight has since been confirmed by UFC officials.

Then GSP hurt his knee and in the end, Diaz fought BJ Penn. Now GSP's knee appears to be injured more severely than previously understood, and Diaz is one again fighting for the UFC title, albeit an interim one.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre had been scheduled to face Nick Diaz at UFC 143 on Feb. 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. With GSP out for ten months, Carlos Condit will now step in vs Diaz for the UFC Interim 170-pound title.

Condit had been scheduled to face Josh Koscheck. There is no word yet on who his replacement will be vs. Kos, if any.

pierce's ufc record is 5-2, pretty good for a relatively unknown fighter. when you put 2 wrestler together that tend to throw heavy-leather it's rarely a boring fight. i think this should be competitive. pierce's only losses in mma have come by decision so he's a tough opponent for kos.

Pierce called into Junkie Radio yesterday and called out Kos. Nice to see this work it's way onto the schedule.

Pierce is definitely tough but I think he is thoroughly outclassed in every aspect in this fight.

Pierce is durable. He is a wildcard and tough fight for anyone. This is a very winnable fight for Pierce. Kos better not overlook him, otherwise we could see another Paulo Thaigo surprise

anybody who thinks pierce is a can and this kos will walk through him is ignorant. that being said, pierce isn't and probably never will be a top ten ww, making this an unappealing matchup that absolutely cannot sell ppv's as a co-main. I can see this as being a very interesting matchup, but not one that many people will pay to see.

Really surprised about the ignorance of Pierce. He is very skilled and very tough. Ask Fitch. Not likely to get KOed. Although not as powerful and explosive as Kos, he has better boxing, excellent TD defense, and is a solid wrestler himself. Don't expect Kos to simply lean on his wrestling if he isn't making progress on the feet. Pierce is crafty and experienced on the ground. I can see Pierce taking a decision.However, I don't see why Kos would take this fight. Nothing to gain and everything to lose. Not compelling from a fan standpoint, either. Would have loved to see him and Diaz or Ellenberger, and pierce v Story. Or Ellenberger v Diaz for that matter.
