Mike Pierce vs, Josh Koscheck at UFC 143 on Feb. 4
Read entire twitter... (Mike Pierce) The welterweight title has taken wild ride lately, taking various fights with it. GSP was scheduled to defend his title versus Nick Diaz at UFC 137. Diaz was then replaced with Carlos Condit, again with the ttle on the line. Then GSP hurt his knee, and the main event ended up being Nick Diaz vs. BJ Penn; Condit was left without an opponent, and will end the year with just a single fight in 2011. Then GSP's knee injury turned out to be so severe he would not be able to defend his title for nearly a year, so an interim title was declared: Nick Diaz vs. Carlos Condit. Condit had been scheduled to fight Josh Koscheck, who likewise had only a single fight in 2011. Now Pierce has announced that he will be the replacement for Condit vs Josh Koshcheck at UFC 143 on Feb. 4, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight has since been confirmed by UFC officials.
Then GSP hurt his knee and in the end, Diaz fought BJ Penn. Now GSP's knee appears to be injured more severely than previously understood, and Diaz is one again fighting for the UFC title, albeit an interim one.
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre had been scheduled to face Nick Diaz at UFC 143 on Feb. 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. With GSP out for ten months, Carlos Condit will now step in vs Diaz for the UFC Interim 170-pound title. Condit had been scheduled to face Josh Koscheck. There is no word yet on who his replacement will be vs. Kos, if any.
