13 yeara ago, at UFC: Ultimate Brazil, Vitor Belfort destroyed Wanderlei Silva in jsut 44 seconds. Wand has ached for rematch every since, and now he will get it.

Vitor Vs Wand

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is pitting Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort as opposing coaches on a Portuguese language version of the TUF series, airing on Brazilian media giant Globo.

At the conclusion of the season, they will face off for a second time on a date and location to be determined.

Wand is comng off a second round vintage knee destruction of San Shou specialist Cung Le. Belfort will be fighting Anthony Johnson on Jan. 14 in Rio, and will apparently face Wand whether he wins or not vs AJ.

No I believe it will be going at the same time. This one is just in Brazil, rumored to be aired on fuel tv, probably all subtitled.

i want to say this is the coolest thing ever, because it would have been, except for the fact that some gremlin stole wanderlei's face (and soul) and is an imposter.vitor wins again (i would not have said that 5-6 years ago).

I don't like this match up. Vitor is going to end him badly. I don't usually say 10/10 but damn in this case it's applicable. In fact first thing I thought after the Cung Lee fight was that he was damn lucky he didn't get fed to Vitor and at least lost an exciting fight to a legend.

All Wand needs is a front kick.

What's Dana thinking here? He's made it clear that he doesn't want to see these veterans knocked out brutally, yet he sets up Wand (probably the most worn out fighter) for a guaranteed brutal knock out. There is absolutely nothing Wand has at this point that he could use against Vitor. This will be assault in the cage.

That is an absolutely terrible fight. Wanderlei shouldn't be competing against the guy who's probably the second or third best middleweight in the world. What's the sense in putting Wanderlei in there with Vitor when he didn't even last 30 seconds against Chris Leben?

Or 4. (IMO most likely) just trying to market to Brazilian fan base and hardcore fans around the world who love these two and just giving the fans a fight regardless of what there is to gain or lose for either of them.My personal favorite idea was on another thread of 2 simultaneous TUFs. One in America coached by chael and one in brazil coached by Anderson. The fighters from their respective countries fight eachother and the last ones from brazil and America fight eachother in the finale
