GSP knee rehab begins

source: The Underground

Earlier this month UFC President Dana White tweeted that UFC welterweight champion tore his ACL, and would be sidelined for 10 months. An interim title belt bout pitting Nick Diaz against Carlos Condit has been set for Feb. 4 at UFC 143.

In the meantime, GSP knee surgery last week was been deemed a huge success, and he has already begun rehab. In the image below he is seen using a continuous passive motion machine (CPM), which painlessly prevents the onset of stiffness.

GSP says the experience will leave him "stronger, smarter and more clever," and promises to be champion again.

The video below details the use of the CPM in the home.

+1.It's been over 18 mos from the surgery for me, and I still feel the difference between the two knees. Granted I didnt have the money for physical therapy that GSP does, but I think he will have a rough go getting back to where he was. J-lau said he took 18 mos and wishes he had taken more time off after fighting.Good luck to GSP.

I recovered from the same surgery and bounced back just fine. I was only down and out for a short period of time with weight lifting in 3+ months and back kicking in 5 months. GSP will have better recovery, better attention and as a physical specimen he will be just fine. GSP "will" be the reigning Welterweight Champion again; 100% Guarantee.
