The last time Dennis Siver was in the octagon, he had his 4-fight win streak snapped by Donald Cerrone at UFC 137, being submitted in the 1st round. The UK fighter has been fighting consistently in the UFC since 2007, compiling a 9-5 record overall in the UFC. The loss to Cerrone put on a hold any momentum Siver had towards a lightweight title shot.
At 5'7", Siver is not exactly an under-sized lightweight, but it was recently confirmed by Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com that Siver would be making a move to the featherweight division:
No word just yet on when the 19-8 German fighter will make his debut in the 145-pound weight class.
Siver's eventual move continues a trend of UFC lightweights dropping down to featherweight following the UFC-WEC merger in 2011. Other names who have made the switch include Kenny Florian, Tyson Griffin, Ross Pearson and Bart Palaszewski.
