Dana: [Cyborg's] getting stripped of the title

source: 5thround.com

While Coker was noncommittal regarding Cyborg’s fate in his press release, UFC president Dana White (Pictured) shed plenty of light on the Brazilian and the women’s 145-pound landscape.

“We were going to hold that division and just do fights with Cyborg whenever there was a new contender,” White told ESPN Radio in Las Vegas. “She’s getting stripped of the title. This pretty much kills the division.

“I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”

White also said he’d welcome Gina Carano back with open arms if the actress ever decided to resume her mixed martial arts career.

...and Nick was three times more than that when he fought Gomi. Pothead X 9

Of interest to me is that, according to the above threshold levels, a fighter would be cleared with over three times the level that would prevent you and I from getting a job.

You can fight with marijuana in your system. I'm going to dig a little deeper when I get some time, but it's been awhile since I read anything about it and I didn't find any of the pieces I was thinking of when I posted. For what it's worth (not much I know) here is a little from his wiki:The Commission felt that the result of Diaz's THC test, an enormous 175, was a contributing factor in his performance during the fight. Commission Chairman Dr. Tony Alamo said that while a result of 15 is considered positive, the NSAC has a threshold of 50 for athletes. He also believes they "feel very comfortable that everyone that tests positive in Nevada is truly positive."Also I think using 'substantial' may have been irresponsible on my part, but this should at least show that there is some degree of tolerance allowed with regard to clearing fighters.

Conversely, just because a drug is illegal doesn't mean you can't fight with it in your system. Which illegal drugs can you fight with in your system? It's a fact you can have pretty substantial levels of THC in your system and still get cleared to fight. No, you can't, even if you have a prescription for it (like Nick Diaz). Mj is not a zero tolerance thing in mma. Yes, it is. Where are you getting your information, if you don't mind me asking? Cindy

So, 58miles was wrong on Cyborg not resorting to enhancement drugs. So what? This doesn't take anything from what he said on Ronda (title shopping, calling out the champion and then ducking and so on).For the record, as a fan (or an ex-fan), I do think this puts a asterisk on all of her performances. People will always be questioning. This doesn't make Ronda look better, though, and this was his main point.

Good question. 58 Miles must be completely humiliated right now.We will see him/her again once the dust has settled, but with a new username no doubt. Won't be hard to recognise though.
