UFC 141 draws $3.1 million live gate

UFC 141 sold 10,091 tickets for a live gate of $3,101,000, the Nevada athletic commission said Wednesday.

According to the commission, a total of 13,793 were in attendance Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to watch Alistair Overeem defeat Brock Lesnar. 3,702 tickets were comped and 137 were left unsold.

New years eve weekend in Vegas... I can't imagine things were very cheap that week, hotels and such... may have kept some fans away from flying in. Alos being on a Friday and not as much time to get in before the fight... things like this may have affected sales.

I bought the PPV and was glad I did...Fitch got KO'd finally...worth every cent!  I would've paid much more for a ticket to see it in person!
