Diego Sanchez is not high on Nick Diaz and his 'groupies'

In 2005 at the The Ultimate Fighter 2 Finale Nick Diaz lost a unanimous decision to Diego Sanchez. In what has become a pattern, Diaz disputed the decision.

In an interview with MMAWeekly, Sanchez addresses Diaz supporters.

“All you little people out there that are Nick Diaz groupies: I beat him then, I’ll beat him again,” Sanchez told MMAWeekly Radio Weekend Edition. “I don’t know why you guys say this crap. ‘Oh, that was a long time ago! Nick Diaz has gotten so much better.’ You know what, man?! Everybody’s gotten better! That’s what happens!”

“I commend Nick Diaz for everything he’s done, and he did take it to B.J., but the B.J. that fought Nick Diaz was not the B.J. that fought me. I wish I could have fought that B.J.”

However, Sanchez has a fight scheduled with with Jake Ellenberger at UFC on Fuel TV Wed night (see video below).

“A big win in this fight I think (will) put me in line for a shot at (Carlos Condit). That’s what I would want,” said Sanchez. “Get that interim belt and fight ‘GSP.’

“I’m not looking ahead of Jake Ellenberger. He’s a champion.”

Still, Sanchez wants a Diaz fight.

“The guy is the most negative guy in the sport, and I would love to put a whooping on him again,” Sanchez said. “I’m still the Diego Sanchez who can take down Nick Diaz and his ‘blanky’ legs.”

Diaz had the benefit of not facing the level of competition during his 10 fight win streak that most UFC WW fighters had to face. He didnt face a single legit top 10 WW fighter. It is what it is but Diaz made a name off a bunch of guys perfectly suited for him and some cans.

Diaz talked crazy shit about Diego not being worthy of the UFC because he won a reality show. Then Diego made him eat his words and Diaz ran to PRIDE after smoking enough grass to have his incredible submission of Gomi overturned. I don't blame Sanchez for once...

Diaz has accomplished a lot mainly because of his circumstances. Big fish tiny pond. Now he is an average fish in a fucking ocean. Diego is just as big a fish and would definately give him all  he could handle. It would just be up to Diego to be smart and work his game plan which no doubt would be dump Diaz on his ass and beat the shit out of him.

This. I'm surprised how many people seem to overlook this. Diaz has accomplished a lot more than Diego in recent times, but stylistically Diego is a very tough match up for him. Wrestling always has been, and always will be Diaz' weak point.

If you can take down Diaz you beat Diaz simple as that he sucks against wrestlers and if you dont stand in front of him like a retard you'll win

Until Diaz can show he can stop takedowns I will never pick him against a guy like Diego. He hasn't faced a wrestler since he left the UFC the first time. I mean his opponents have basically been perfect style match ups. Guys who want to stand and bang it out.

Diego needs to first worry about the guy he is fighting next. Then he can run his mouth about fighting Diaz. Win or lose I would love to see Diaz Sanchez 2.
