Cliff notes...

We are gonna be diving into a frozen lake for a GREAT cause!

I love Grudge Training Center and the Colorado MMA Community!

We have organized multiple Childrens Hospital visit's... And I am constantly being asked when we are bringing another crew of fighters to the CHILDREN'S hospital after we were intially... Denied access. Now we are their favortie group visitors!

The Colorado MMA Community really rallied around one of the coolest guys who had a desperately tragic loss in Dr. Alex...

Now on short notice, actually last minute, the Colorado MMA Community is rallying together to support The Special Olympics. MMA is truly a UNIQUE and RARE breed of people! Some of the most fierce competitors, some of the most incredible

Pumped, Stoked, and really looking forward to jumping into a frozen lake with several UFC veterans and professional MMA fighters for such an INCREDIBLE and INSPIRING cause!

What is the cause? The Special Olympics and this is their second annual "Polar Plunge" where they raise money for the organization and then dive into a frozen lake! I am really looking forward to supporting this awesome organization that I have volunteered with in the past... It is truly a heart-warming and life changing organization!

3 ways you can get in on the action!

Option #1: Watch

Looks like Inside MMA on HDnet has confirmed and potentially some other media outlets will be attending to film a bunch of goofy fighters FREEZING their tails off... In February... In Colorado... In TWENTY ONE degrees... For a great cause!

So if you can't be there, hopefully you'll be able to see some entertaining, funny, and inspiring footage that they film from the event.

Who is coming? So far confirmed we have Brendan Schaub and probably Justin Salas who is now celebrating his 2-HOUR-old UFC debut victory (Congrats!). Justin is the man who handed Jake Ellenberger’s younger brother his only defeat and then tonight Justin Salas triumphed in a unanimous 30-27 victory over Finland’ Anton Kuivanen. I can’t believe he is ALREADY talking about joining us to support this great cause! Our incredible Coach Trevor Wittman might be joining us, he is with Justin Salas now and Coach T and his wife support MORE charitable causes than anyone I know. Potential guys in the works are some other Colorado MMA guys who are some “heavy hitters” in the MMA world & I’ll wait to confirm those guys as they approve. We also have a BJJ blackbelt confirmed and also a NFL vet and maybe a few more… The reason I’m sharing all this info is for an option where some of you UG guys will hopefully get to hang with us!

Option #2: Get Involved!

I found out all the information for this "Polar Plunge" at about 7 pm and then I let some of the Grudge Training Center fighters know at 8 pm… We are joining LATE in the game for the event to be Saturday at 1pm. We are now in a TEAM COMPETITION and we are matched up & going head to head with the lead team… The Boulder Police Department “The Copsicles” who have already fundraised $6,000 and we have a total of $500.

I am hoping that some of you guys will feel led to come alongside us and “Dive in” on this fun cause, which TRULY impacts the lives of those in need. 5, 10, 20 bucks will go extremely far if we can rally the support of the MMA community… And for those of you who personally have any connection to somebody with special needs really know the powerful influence The Special Olympics has in their lives. This is a great cause to support! I am hoping some of you guys join us in this venture to show significant support.

Each fighter or “plunger” needs to have raised a minimum of $85 to be able to “plunge” and be “Freezin’ for a reason.” My goal might be too high, but I am hoping to REALLY give “The Copsicles” a challenge and hopefully beat em. Why? I am very competitive… and I love (and you love also) seeing come from behind victories! Even more important than that though is the lives that we will impact... TOGETHER!

Option #3: Join our team!

We wanted to come up with a unique way to really support this cause the best we can and to involve the local MMA community. So we came up with perhaps a pretty rare opportunity. If you are in Colorado, we aren’t going to ask you to show support only through donations… We aren’t going to ask you to come watch… Cause that’d be boring! We want to invite you on our team! Saturday our team name is “Colorado MMA” so that anybody can join who is a fighter, trainer, fan, etc… We want to include you in this fun, freezing, and inspiring experience! So for those interested, let me know and I will show you how to join our team and dive on in.

For the people who join you will be given an event t-shirt and some other goodies… In addition to this I am trying to also rally the guys to gather up some promo material they can autograph for you guys for being so supportive & compassionate to the cause! Hopefully that will add some encouragement to join our team, and come have some freezing fun!

For those interested you will be required to sign up either online, by Friday and also raise $85. If that isn’t possible you can also join and register at the event itself in Boulder, Colorado the day of the event. We actually jump in the lake at 1pm so I know you’d have to get there early for “day of” sign ups.

Thanks to those of you still reading! This will be an incredibly fun event for an inspiring and important cause. I thank you for your support and hopefully some of you will join our financial support team and hopefully some locals will join our “plunge” team and dive in with us! Thank you for your IMPACT!

Make sure to stay tuned for fighter updates… As well some highly touted grapplers and some NFL veterans.

Here is the link to get the support started!

Common winter time hobby here in Finland. It's very good for your immune system and helps to deal with the cold weather.   Bellator signee Marcus "Caveman" Vänttinen on a morning swim
